Does it cost anything to post a job?

No. Listing a job on alt is free. You only pay when you hire a Tasker — at that point a $2.50 connection fee is added on top of their offer (waived on your first completed task). Payment is held in alt until you approve the finished work.

What do people hiring pay?

When you assign a Tasker, you pay their offer amount plus a flat $2.50 connection fee. The exact total is shown in the app before you confirm. Your first completed task has no connection fee.

When payment is released, alt deducts a 5% commission from the task amount, with a minimum of $2.50 — whichever is greater. Taskers see the rate and expected payout before they send an offer. The first completed task has no commission.

Are these the same fee?

No — they are separate. The connection fee is paid by the person hiring when they assign a Tasker. Commission is deducted from the Tasker when payment is released. Each side sees their own breakdown in the app before confirming.

Is the first task really free?

Yes. Once per role, your first completed and paid task has no connection fee (for people hiring) and no commission (for Taskers). After that, standard launch rates apply.

Will I see the full price before I confirm?

Yes. Posters see the offer plus connection fee before assigning a Tasker. Taskers see commission and expected payout before sending an offer. Nothing is charged until you confirm.

How does payment work?

When you hire a Tasker, payment is captured and held securely in alt. Funds are released to the Tasker after you approve the completed work. You can optionally add a tip on release — tips have no commission.
